learning with laptopsAt Hawker Primary School we believe that within the policies of the ACT Department of Education and School Based Curriculum it is our responsibility to design a school which is responsive to the demonstrated needs of our students and our community.  We also believe that our programs should be underpinned with a set of core values.  These values both protect our children and teach them the skills and attitudes they need for life as active citizens in local and global communities.

At Hawker we take a consistent whole school approach to creating programs which:

front officeRespectful communication between the adults in our community is a powerful role model.  Children learn many social skills by watching the adults around them.  As teachers and parents we help our children learn effective communication skills by showing them positive ways of dealing with others.

At Hawker our SCARF values framework of Support Cooperation Acceptance Respect and Friendship is an effective guide for adults as well as for children.

A school environment where adults demonstrate effective and positive problem solving, good manners, and a sense of humour teaches our children important skills for life.
